(The Herald Post) – Alibaba Group’s cloud computing division is reportedly seeking businesses to test its AI chatbot, Tongyi Qianwen, according to STAR Market Daily. The company aims to capitalize on the growing AI chatbot market, following the massive success of Microsoft-backed OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Alibaba Cloud recently posted a teaser message on social media introducing the chatbot, and the official website allows users to request an invitation by entering their contact details. The Chinese tech giant is expected to formally launch the AI application at an Alibaba Cloud event on Tuesday, with CEO Daniel Zhang scheduled to speak.
Other companies, including Baidu Inc and Huawei Technologies, are also entering the AI chatbot race with their respective applications, Ernie Bot and Pangu. AI software developer SenseTime will be hosting an event next week to showcase its latest advancements in artificial intelligence.
This news comes after Alibaba announced last week that it will undergo a major restructuring, dividing the company into six standalone divisions with their own boards and CEOs.
