(The Herald Post) – Amanda Bynes, the former child star, has been released from a Southern California mental hospital after more than three weeks of treatment. Bynes and the facility’s medical staff reportedly determined she was prepared to return to her everyday life.
The actress will undergo outpatient treatment to ensure she remains on the right path, working with doctors and specialists for the assistance she requires moving forward. Bynes will continue to live in her own home and maintain the independence she gained after nine years under a conservatorship.
Bynes initially sought help last month when she was seen naked and wandering the streets near Downtown Los Angeles early in the morning. According to a witness, it was Bynes herself who flagged down a nearby vehicle for assistance. Subsequently, she called 911, informing operators that she was experiencing psychosis and required help.
Initially placed on a mandatory 72-hour psychiatric hold, Bynes’ stay was extended as she and the medical staff collaborated on a plan to get her back on track. With her recent release, the actress is now set to take the next steps in her recovery journey.
