(The Herald Post) – In a surprise announcement, Coachella has revealed that iconic pop-punk band Blink-182 will be performing at the festival for the first time in almost ten years. The addition of the band, which consists of members Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus, and Tom DeLonge, was made public late Wednesday night, sending fans into a frenzy.
The festival’s official social media accounts directed attention to the new addition with a caption that read, “Take off your pants and jacket ☀️,” referencing one of the band’s hit tracks. Blink-182 is set to perform on the Sahara stage at 6:45 PM on Friday night.
This highly anticipated reunion marks the first time the trio has shared the stage since 2014, before Tom DeLonge took a hiatus from the group. As previously reported, Blink-182 announced their comeback last year, complete with new music and a world tour.
However, the band had to postpone their tour last month when drummer Travis Barker suffered two finger injuries, requiring surgery and extensive bandaging. With Barker’s future behind the drum set uncertain, this Coachella performance confirms that he has made a full recovery.
Eager fans will have to wait just one more night to hear hits like “All The Small Things” live on stage once again.
